We don't just stitch tracks together; we perform surgical voice restoration and optimisation to meet the most demanding broadcast standards for radio frequency (AM/FM) and digital systems.

Our Step-by-Step Voice Signal Chain:

  • Peak and RMS Normalisation to -2dB: We adjust the gain level of the voiceover to set the dynamic ceiling at a strict -2dB level. This ensures the signal has the maximum possible volume without the risk of digital clipping or unwanted harmonic distortion.
  • Spectral Removal of Noise and Artefacts: We intelligently filter out digital background noise and any bothersome low or high-frequency sounds that muddy the signal.
  • Adjustment of Pauses and Breaths: The system automatically detects intrusive or overly pronounced breaths and removes them entirely. Furthermore, it calibrates the milliseconds of silence between phrases to give the voiceover a fluid, dynamic, and natural rhythm.
  • Sibilance Treatment via De-esser: Annoying high frequencies produced by sibilant consonants (like 'S') are attenuated using an algorithmic de-esser that smooths the signal without sacrificing clarity in pronunciation.
  • Multiband Compression and Harmonic Enrichment: We apply frequency-band-split compression to level the voice dynamics, keeping it consistently front and centre. Finally, we inject subtle harmonics to 'sweeten' the signal, adding that warmth, weight, and presence characteristic of high-end condenser microphones found in traditional studios.
